International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women

On November 25, 2024, our college commemorated the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women with a significant event organized by the Women's Cell. The program began at 10:00 AM and aimed to raise awareness and foster a deeper understanding of the importance of women's rights and safety.


The event featured a thought-provoking video that highlighted the importance of women in society and the critical need to address and eliminate violence against them. This powerful visual presentation was a pivotal part of the program, resonating deeply with all attendees.


Through this event, our college reaffirmed its commitment to supporting women's rights and promoting a safer and more inclusive environment for everyone. The Women's Cell's efforts in organizing such an impactful event were truly commendable, leaving a lasting impression on all who participated.

Film fest

Today at Baselios Marthoma Mathews II Training College, Kottarakkara, we inaugurated our much-anticipated Film Club. The ceremony began at 10:00 AM, led by Mr. Arun. During the event, our Film Club was officially christened "Cinema Paradise," symbolizing a new haven for film enthusiasts.

Following the grand inauguration, attendees enjoyed screenings of two entertaining films, "Adi Kappyare Koottamani" and "Chathikatha Chandhu." The audience was captivated by the selection, which added a delightful cinematic flair to the day.

The festival wrapped up at 3:30 PM, marking the end of a day filled with film appreciation and community bonding. This inaugural event was a resounding success, setting the stage for future gatherings of our Film Club, Cinema Paradise. It was truly a day to remember for all movie lovers at the college.

Workshop of socially useful products



Today, our college hosted a B.Ed. workshop on Socially Useful Productive Work (EDU 103.1). The event commenced at 10:00 AM with a presidential address by our principal, Mr. Riju John. 


Led by Mr. Mohanlal, a retired school teacher and resource person, the workshop opened with an insightful discussion on environmental conservation and sustainable living. This set the stage for a hands-on craft-making session where participants created handmade items like bags, lotions, soaps, and files. These activities provided practical insights into sustainable practices and their role in preserving our environment. 


The session concluded successfully at 3:30 PM, leaving everyone with a deeper understanding of sustainability and a sense of accomplishment from their creative efforts. The day was both educational and inspiring, highlighting the importance of environmentally conscious living.

Leadership building programme



As part of the B.Ed. curriculum, the EDU01 workshop was held on 16th November 2024 at 9:30 AM in the General Hall. Led by Mr. R. Kiran Bodhi, the session spanned from 9:30 AM to 4:00 PM, offering a day full of learning and engagement.


The morning began with an insightful class on leadership, enriched by an engaging PowerPoint presentation. Interactive games followed, keeping participants active and highlighting essential qualities for teacher trainees.


In the afternoon, teams were tasked with presenting skits on various topics, adding a creative and dynamic touch to the session. The day was filled with laughter, joy, and excitement, making it a memorable and enriching experience for all involved.


The combination of educational and interactive activities ensured that the workshop was not only informative but also fun, leaving a lasting impact on all participants.

Physical science association program



The Physical Science Department's Association Day, celebrated on 12th November 2024 at 2:00 PM in the General Hall, began with an invocation prayer that set a serene tone. Jeeja, a student, delivered a heartfelt welcome speech, greeting attendees including faculty, principal, and students. Dr. Shamna Rani, a respected faculty member, chaired the event, sharing inspiring thoughts on collaboration and creativity in education. Principal Riju John unveiled the department's association logo and name, "TACHYON," symbolizing speed, energy, and dynamism, reflecting the department's spirit.

Cultural performances, including captivating dance and music, enriched the event, adding vibrancy and celebration. Engaging games encouraged active participation, fostering camaraderie and teamwork. The highlight was the treasure hunt, meticulously organized with challenging clues. The Mathematics Department students emerged victorious, adding friendly rivalry and joy. Association Day was a blend of fun, creativity, and unity, leaving cherished memories and renewed enthusiasm for departmental activities. It was a day of laughter, excitement, and collective achievement.

Natural science association program


On 11th November 2024 at 2:00 PM, the Natural Science Department celebrated its Association Day in the General Hall. The event kicked off with an invocation prayer, followed by a warm welcome speech from Soja. Dr. Praveena M, a faculty member, presided over the event, sharing inspiring words.Our principal, Riju John, unveiled the association's new logo and name, "BIOPHILIA," symbolizing the deep connection to nature and life sciences. In a gesture of gratitude and environmental consciousness, students presented a Tulsi plant to the college, representing growth and sustainability.

The celebration was enriched with cultural performances, including lively dances and melodious music, adding vibrancy to the occasion. Engaging games encouraged active participation, fostering camaraderie. The day was a delightful blend of joy, laughter, and togetherness, creating cherished memories of the celebration.

Sports meet



As part of our B.Ed. curriculum, the much-awaited sports meet, SMASH 2K24, was held on 9th November 2024 at the college ground from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM. The event featured exciting competitions like football and cricket, ensuring that every participant had an opportunity to showcase their skills and enthusiasm.


Each one of us actively participated in at least one event, making the sports meet inclusive and energetic. To keep everyone refreshed and motivated, snacks and water were provided, helping us stay energized throughout the activities.


The event concluded with a prize distribution ceremony, where our principal, Riju John, awarded medals and certificates to the winners, celebrating their achievements. The thrill of competition, the cheerful laughter during games, and the spirited support for teammates created an electric atmosphere, leaving us with cherished memories of camaraderie, teamwork, and pure

 joy.

Mathematics association program

Today, the department of  Mathematics conducted there Subject Association . The program kicked off at 2:00 PM with a heartfelt welcome address by Albin K Alexander, the chairman of the college, who set a warm and enthusiastic tone for the event. This was followed by an inspiring presidential address by Ms. Vismaya, highlighting the crucial role of mathematics in developing critical thinking and problem-solving skills.

Our principal, Mr. Riju, officially announced the name of the association as EQUAVISTA, symbolizing a balanced and clear perspective on mathematical learning and exploration. His words encouraged the audience to see mathematics as a tool for innovation and growth.

The event was packed with engaging activities, including vibrant dance performances, melodious songs, and intellectually stimulating games. These activities tested mathematical aptitude and fostered teamwork. Prizes were awarded to the winners, adding excitement and encouragement for all participants.

Social Science Department's Association Program

Today, at 2:00 PM, the Social Science Department’s association program kicked off with great enthusiasm. Anu did a commendable job hosting the event, which featured Sheeja Miss delivering a heartfelt presidential address. Our esteemed principal, Riju John Sir, inaugurated the program and unveiled the department’s new logo, "RITHVA," symbolizing a branch of a tree. The logo represents growth, connectivity, and knowledge.

The event buzzed with energy as students presented a variety of performances, including dances, songs, and group acts, showcasing their talents and the spirit of the department. In a thoughtful gesture, cake was served to the audience and faculty members, adding a sweet touch to the celebrations. The event concluded at around 3:30 PM, leaving everyone with cherished memories and a sense of community.

Malayalam Department's Enthralling Association Program

On November 5, the Malayalam Department hosted an engaging association program that began at 2:00 PM. The event opened with a warm welcome speech by Neethu Raj, followed by an inspiring presidential address from Akhil Sir. 

Hari Sir then launched and inaugurated the department's new logo, marking an official start to the festivities. The welcome dance by Kalyani and Alfiya captivated the audience, setting a joyous tone.

Aleena’s "Funny News Reading" had everyone in stitches, while Anupama and Rahul's dance performance kept the energy high. Group performances, both dance and song, by Jaimy, Lakshmi, and Jincy, were delightful highlights. Kalyani and Jishnu’s duet showcased their remarkable vocal talent.

Sandra and Alfiya did an excellent job as comperes, smoothly guiding us through the program. The hostelers' lively dance and the boys' fashion show added excitement and flair. 

Anupama’s vote of thanks brought the event to a close at 3:30 PM, leaving us with cherished memories of a day filled with fun and camaraderie.

Keralappiravi

 


November 1, our college enthusiastically celebrated Keralappiravi, commemorating the formation of Kerala. The day was filled with vibrant programs and activities that showcased the rich cultural heritage of the state. Among the various events, the one that stood out the most for me was the "Malayali Manga" competition. It was a delightful display of traditional Kerala attire and grace. One or two students from each department participated in this spirited competition, bringing their best cultural expressions to the forefront. The Malayalam Department emerged victorious, securing the first prize with their outstanding performance. The celebrations not only honored our cultural roots but also fostered a sense of unity and pride among students and faculty alike. The day concluded with everyone cherishing the memories created and looking forward to preserving and promoting our rich heritage.
